FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE

Start a conversation. Not an argument.

Care first. Statistics second.

Choose a quieter moment.

A suggested opening: “I care about you. I’ve noticed you seem stressed by trading, and I wanted to check in. What has it been like for you?” This is a conversation prompt, not a clinical technique or a promise of a particular response.

Describe what you have noticed.

Stay with specific observations—missed sleep, repeated requests for money, or being distracted together—rather than labels. Listen without demanding that they agree with the entire NeverTrade campaign before accepting help.

Offer a concrete, limited next step.

You could sit together while they contact a support service, read a source, or make a plan for essential bills. Avoid becoming their trading coach or promising to fix the loss. Your own financial boundaries matter too.

Take immediate danger seriously.

If someone says they may harm themselves or cannot stay safe, seek urgent help. In immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the US, call or text 988. In the UK and Ireland, call Samaritans on 116 123. Do not rely on a website or email reply in a crisis.

You are more than your losses.

Worried about your own trading, or someone else’s? You do not have to figure it out alone.
